Hint: No battles in Phoenix Tower:
Use the following door order: left, left, right, left, left, right, left, left, right, left, left, right, right, left, right, left, left, right, and up.

Hint: Easy ABP:
In Phoenix Tower, after every few stairs you will reacha room with two pots, one on each side of the room. One of thepots contain money, but the other contains a monster. The enemyis called "Magic Pot" and will not attack you. He willsay "Gimme Elixer". Use an Elixer on him and he willreward with 100 ABP and an item. This is possibly the easiestway to master items like Mimes, Samurais, Chemists, and Ninjas.

In The Void (the last area of the game), all of the monsters give20+ ABP after a battle. To easily win Behemoth battles, firstcast Berserk on it. Next, cast Golem on your allies. You can nowuse physical or magic attacks to defeat them. If Golem wears out, simply recast it. Also in The Void is a monster called a "Mover".They are very rare, but if you are lucky enough to encounter them(they appear in sets of three), kill them all quickly with attackssuch as Bahamut or Leviathan. If you let them live too long, theystart to move around and eventually turn one of your party membersinto stone. When this happens, the battle automatically ends andyou get nothing. The reward for defeating the Movers is 199 ABPand 100,000 gil.

Hint: Finding Shiva:
Go to Waltz Castle and walk into the water on the roof.Find the large waterfall, walk into the middle of it, and continueto walk up the stairs until you see a glowing ball. Walk up andtalk to the ball. Fight and defeat Shiva to get her as a summon.

Hint: Finding Ramuh:
Get the airship and fly to Easterly Falls, up in thenorthwest corner of the map. Walk around in the forest until youencounter Ramuh. Fight and defeat Ramuh to get him as a summon.

Hint: Skip Gilgamesh battle:
At the end of World 2 when you are infiltrating X-Death'scastle, immediately before you reach X-Death's room you will encountera chest with nothing in it. When you leave this room, Gilgameshwill attack you. However, if you do not open the chest in thisroom, you will not have to fight Gilgamesh.

Hint: Defeating Bahamut:
Either get four Wall Rings or have a Summoner thatcan cast Carbuncle. Make Black or Time Mages and one Summoner(if you do not have four Wall Rings equipped. Have the Mages casttheir strongest spells (Flare for Black Mages and Meteo for TimeMages) while the fourth person heals the party. You can get theWall Rings from enemies in the Phoenix Tower. Bahamut's spellswill bounce back to him (putting the fight into you favor) whenyou have Wall on the party. The instant kill spell he does atthe end will also be reflected back to Bahamut.

Hint: Defeating Gilgame:
First, make sure you have one chararcter that has learnedWhite Magic Lv5, another that knows Black Magic Lv5, a third onewith Time Magic/Jikuu Lv5, and the last one with Summon/Call Lv3.You will need to use Cure3 and Golem most of the time to protectyourselves. Start the battle with Haste2 and Float and hit Gilgamewith Ice3. Make sure to have all of these spells up and running. Then, make everyone in your party change to Monk to get a goodamount of HP, then put everyone in the back row. Gilgame is toughand evades easily; there is almost no need to hit him with a weapon. Before you get to his lair (behind a door in the cave linkingthe Big Bridge to the plains of Val), cast Float on everyone. Then, start picking up Gil until Gilgame gets you. Starty by castingHaste2 and Golem. Every time you hit Gilgame with Ice3, this bigturtle will counter twice with his Carapace attack, causing Blindand Poison. However, Golem will take the damage for you. Normally,Golem will take five hits from Gilgame before you have to resummonhim. Keep casting Ice3 and defending yourselves with Cure3 andAntidote. You may also cast Blink to avoid your opponent's attacksand make Golem last slightly longer. Once Gilgame dies, he willdestroy you with a Quake, which will be fatal to all of you ifyou are not floating. Winning the battle will award you 3 ABPand 5000 Gil. If you continue picking up Gil in the cave afterthat, Gilgame might appear again.

Hint: Defeating enemies:
The following is an easy way to defeat most enemies. If you have a Sorcerer and any of the level 5 Black Magic spells(Fire 3, Ice 3, etc.) you can instantly kill enemies that areweak against that element. This also works on some Bosses.

Hint: Easy experience:
In the first world, once you get the airship go tothe chain of islands at the bottom of the map. The ones abovecrescent island have an enemy called Black Flame which has theBlue spell Black Shock, and gives high experience, gold and ABPwhen defeated. Also, some of the islands have a monster calledPrototype which you cannot hurt to defeat. Use the Control commandand have it cast Exploder on itself You can also learn the Bluespells Missile and Burn Ray from it. It also gives 500 experienceand 4 ABP when defeated.

The Quar Harpy gives 250 experience to everyone if four are alive,333 experience if three are alive, 500 experience to two or 1000experience to one person. This can help early on in the game,if you are strong enough.

In the second world, after X-Death turns on his barrier, you willget sent to another part of the world map. There are two placesthat actually show up on the map when you use it -- a town anda castle. Villagers in the town warn you about the castle, andthey also mention that the legendary weapons are all sealed there. If you investigate, you will find absolutely nothing to do, anda very difficult (in fact, impossible at your level) monster calleda ShieldDragon. The dragon is technically invincible to you. Hehas Reflect, and you do not. He can kill you in a few blows, andyou (most likely) cannot seriously hurt him. However, if you havesomeone become a trainer long enough to learn Control, then youhave a chance. Simply have everyone defend or heal while one ofthe party tries to Control until they are successful. Once youare controlling him, you can attack him with Blaze for 4999 damage.Being a magical attack in nature, Blaze will not break the Control.Repeat this until he is defeated. By defeating it, you will get1000 gil, 2500 experience per character (10,000 experience total),and 5 ABP. To add insult to injury, you can steal a Mythril Shieldfrom him every time (and occasionally a Gold Shield), and sometimesyou will win a Gold Shield from the fight.

Hint: Easy gil:
Go to the Valley Of Dragons in Galuf's World (World2). Go in a cave and find a Zombie Dragon. Kill it. This may bedifficult, considering it has about 8,000 HP. After the battle,it should give you about 1000 to 1500 gil, 500 to 1000 experience, and 2 to 7 ABP. A subscreen will appear. Take the Dragon Fangor Dragon Tooth, and kill some more Zombie Dragons. Each DragonFang or Dragon Tooth is worth 2500 gil. Also in the Valley OfThe Dragons is a Bone Mail that resembles a ribcage. It has gooddefense, and can be used by Samurai, Knights, Sorcerers, Lancers, and most other fighting classes.
LOCKHART.

Hint: Get Cain/Kain:
At the beginning of the game give the name -Cain- or-Kain- to the main character. Then, as soon as possible, turnhim into a Dragon Knight and master him. You can also teach himthe Summon command.

Hint: Hydra Summon:
In World 3, use the airship to return to the pirate'sbase in the middle of the mountains. As you enter, Faris willappear and run to the right side of the base. He sees an illusionof Hydra. You will then get to summon Hydra, who uses the veryuseful attack, Thunder.

Hint Golem Summon:
In the Valley of Dragons, get into a few random battlesuntil the monsters you fight are a Skelesaurus, Dragon Zombieand Golem. The other monsters will turn on Golem and ask for help.If you kill the two monsters before they kill Golem, Golem willpraise you and join your party as a summon. You have to use theGolem item in order for him to join (just like Ramuh).

Hint: Shoat Summon:
In World 2 with the submarine you will find a tunnelunderwater at the bottom part of the northwestern-most continent.Go through the tunnel and get into a fight. Shoat is difficultto defeat. His only attack does not miss and turns your charactersinto stone. The tunnel (outside in the water) is a yellow circlein the rock wall. The tunnel is also a good place to level up.

Hint: Mirage Town:
Get the airship and fly to Cresent Island. Head tothe middle of the joined continent, and land next to a forestthere. Walk around in the forest until it seems you have gotteninto a battle. The screen will be fuzzy instead of the normalswirl for starting a battle. This town has extremely good weapons,6 level six magic spells, and great armor. There are two shopsin every store, so search around the town.

Hint: Black Chocobo in World 3:
Fly to Mirage Town and stand near the pub. If you goaround through a back door, you will appear behind the counterof the pub. Check the barrels below you to get a useful weapon, the Thief's Knife. Head left to find some stairs, and continuethrough the area. Put on the "Secret" ability or makeone of your characters a thief. Head through a secret passageto find a door, and past that, a piano. Play the Piano and headthrough the door to find the Black Chocobo.

Hint: Bone Mail:
The Bone Mail is in the Dragon Valley in Galuf's world. In the first area where you start to see bones, you will passthe ribs. The Bone Mail is in a small pile of bones just beforeyou turn the corner on the cliff's edge. This armor is for Knights,Samurais, Sorcerers, etc. This armor will serve well until theend of the game.

Hint: Chicken Knife or Brave Sword:
Go to the town of Moore in World 3. Head southwestto find a barn-like location. Enter it to find yourself in theforest below. Wander around until you find a wizard who will tellto pick from two crates. Pick the right one for the Chicken Knife,or the left one for the Brave Sword. The Chicken Knife can beeasily powered-up, up so it is even more powerful than the Excalibur. The Brave Sword powers up when you win battles, the Chicken Knifepowers up when you run.

Hint: Dancing Dirk:
In world 2 at the Moogle village, inside one of thehouses is the Dancing Dirk. It is the strongest one handed weaponat this point. When attacking it has one of the following bonuses:

Sword Dance: 4x normal damage.
Jitterbug, Wonderwaltz: Absorbs enemy's life.
Normal hit: Normal hit.
Tempetango: Makes one enemy attack other monsters

Hint: Double Lance:
Once you get to Val castle in the second world, youwill notice there is a basement in one of the lower levels thathas a locked door. Down in this small basement room, you encountermonsters called Rock Statues. You can steal the Double Lance fromthese enemies, but it may take awhile. You will mostly get potions, but have patience. The Double Lance allows the user to attacktwice. Try stealing two and equip them to a Ninja for a 4x attack. The rock statues are very difficult to defeat, but a Soft willkill them instantly.

Hint: Healing Staff:
Once you have the dragon, fly to Tycoon Castle andtalk to the Chancellor. Then, go to the treasure room on the eastside of the castle and talk to the Chancellor again to enter.Once there, you can find the very useful Healing Staff, whichrestores HP rather than taking it away. It is magic though --do not use it on someone with Reflect.

Hint: Kornago's Gourd:
In World 2 (Galuf's World), have a Trainer catch aKornago (the giant frog monster) before entering the Kelb Village. After entering Kelb, go to the lower left corner of town and examinethe well. An old man will jump out of the well and offer you theGourd for the Kornago you caught and 10,000 GP. The Kornago'sGourd increases the probability of catching a wild monster. Note:You must go through with the sequence with Lord Kelga before gettingthe Gourd.

Hint: Mirage Vest:
When you go to Mirage Town (World 3), talk to the manwho bets you cannot go around the world on a yellow Chocobo. Exitthe town and hop on Boko. Travel around the world in a counter-clockwisedirection, all the way to Mirage Town. It usually helps if yougo around the world two consecutive times. Talk to the man, andhe will give you the Mirage Vest. The Mirage Vest has pretty highdefense, and when equipped, automatically casts Blink on the wearerin battle.

Hint: Sealed Weapons:
To get all of the weapons, place the Lithograph onthe sparkling platform. You will now be able to break the sealon three of the weapons. Pick up the Lithograph, put it down again, and break three more seals. Repeat this until all the weaponsare collected.

Hint: Magic Summoning Lamp:
In World 3, take Boko northeast then west until youreach the top of Easterly Falls. Walk into the waterfall and pressX to get the Magic Lamp. It will summon in this order:Bahamut, Leviathan, Odin, Hydra, Carbuncle, Golem, Titan, Ifrit,Ramuh, Shiva, Remora, Sylph, Chocobo. It uses no MP if you aresummoning weak monsters, or none. Return to the same locationto refill it.

Hint: Elixir:
You can steal an Elixir from the Zuu outside the castlewith the Fire Crystal. This can give you an early advantage inthe game.

Hint: Mime crystal shard:
Go into the water in the third world, below the PhoenixTower. Transform the boat into the submarine and go into the tower.Since it is under water, you will only have seven minutes to getto the bottom and return. Equip Dash and run to the bottom. Oncethere, you will see the crystal shard. A monster will warn you,but answer "No". He will mimic you. To win, do nothingas he says.

Hint: Blood combo:
Have a Hunter that is mastered (level 4). The abilitylearned is called Sshot meaning Super Shot. This ability willmake your attack (Fight!) happen four times in a row; and if thefirst attack is critical, the other three will also be critical. This move cannot miss. Once you have Sshot, change your job toBare or Mime and equip the Blood Sword found at X-Death's Towerin World 2. Equip the Blood Sword to the Bare or Mime characterand give him/her the ability Sshot with the equipped weapon BloodSword (84 Batt. Pwr., +5 to Vigor, steals the amount of damagethat you deal, but with 5% Accuracy). The combo with Sshot (whichnever misses) will even this out against an average enemy. Thiscan result in 3,200 damage against enemies and 3,200 HP to yourcharacter.

Hint: Berserker:
First, have a character with a mastered Ninja (level5) and a mastered Monk (level 7). Make that character a Mime andgive him the abilities learned from these two classes: 2-Swords(Ninja level 5), HP +30% (Monk level 7), and Counter (Monk level4). The only thing that you have to do is cast Berserk on thisMime during a battle. With the 2-Swords ability, you could givehim a Ragnarok (Batt. Pwr. 137) and a Strato (Batt. Pwr. 117).The HP +30% will give him a great amount of HP and the Counterability will automatically attack an enemy if it attacks the Mime.

Glitch: Two Galufs:
Before you fight Atmos, move Galuf to the first positionin the party. After you defeat him, Galuf will be standing atthe entrance while your party is still represented by him.
