Cheat mode:
Enter one of the following at the code entry screen:

1. If the defense gets a sack, that same team willget 2 points. If the defense gets an interception, the team willget 1 point. Defenses get no points for forced fumbles, fumblesrecovered, blocked kicks, or tipped passes. You will know thatthe game has put up points on the board when a "boing"sound is heard after a sack or the interceptor is tackled.

2. 10 point touchdowns and 7 point field goals.

Dance to the endzone:
Press Triangle when on a breakaway for a touchdownto have your player dance to the endzone.

Pump up the crowd:
Press R2 when you are the home team playingon defense and the player selection icon is on a linebacker ordefensive back. The player will raise his hands up and the crowd'snoise level will increase.

Quiet crowd:
Press R2 when you are on offense and are controllingthe quarterback for the home team.

If you are the visiting team, press Start to quiet thecrowd. This may be time consuming, but effective.

Hint: Franchise mode trades:
In franchise mode, trade for Kyle Brady TE for JacksonvilleJaguars. Brady will trade to or for just about anybody includingdraft picks. Make sure to include someone to trade for when gettingBrady back. The best trade for Brady is Seattle OLB Chad Brown,CB Shawn Springs, and to the Vikings for RB Rod Smith, OG R. Mcdaniel.Also try trading Brady to Dallas for OG Larry Allen, SS DarrenWoodsen. Remember Brady is expensive.

Even if there is a good TE where you want to trade to, get thefirst pick. Just swap a few players for that team's TE. Then tradeBrady for the draft, and pick again. Remember that Brady is expensive.Brady trades for the following: Indianapolis' Marvin HarrisonWR, E. James RB, Ken Dilger TE. Also ,for Jags Leroy Searcy OT,Tony Brackens DE, Kevin Hardy LB; Cincinnati's Corey Dillon RB,T. Spikes LB, C. Pickens WR; Buffalo's E. Moulds WR, S. CowartLB, Sam Gash FB; Pittsburg's D. Dawson C, K. Stewart QB; Miami'sT. Bowens DT, S. Madison CB, among others.

You can trade Kyle Brady to the Bucs for Derrick Brooks, JohnLynch, and Reidell Anthony or to the Ravens for Jonathan Ogden,Jermaine Lewis, and Peter Boulware or to the Vikings for ToddStuessie, Jeff Christy, and Kory Stringer.

Hint: Get any player in franchise mode:
Add a new coach, assign him to the team your desiredplayer is on, then trade him to your team without any rejection.You can also do this to give yourself seven (at most) #1 draftpicks or make the teams in your division full of bad players andtake all of their draft picks.

Hint: Cheap team:
In franchise mode, if you want a player on your rosterto be cheaper, waive the player, then you can resign him for less.You can do this until the player gets down to $350,000. This willwork with almost all players, but some of the player's agentsare different than others, and for some it could take longer toget him down to the salary you want to pay him. For very few players,however, this will not work and you might ending up paying himthe same, if not more money, so use it at your own risk.

Hint: Better regular seasons:
Turn off the salary cap in regular season mode, thensave the season. Return to the main screen, and go to rosters.The salary cap will be gone, and you can load up the teams asneeded without cost. You can also create a player for the opposingteam with very bad skills, put him at QB or HB, and their offensewill really suffer.

Hint: Recommended plays:
Use a singleback normal formation, use slant play,where WR #3 slant behind the WR #2. The DBs usually run into eachother, leaving WR #3 wide open to streak down the sideline. Makesure the two WRs are lined up on the wide side. This works bestif WR #3 has a lot of speed.

Create a play with the following: Dime formation; DBs, CBs, andLBs all manned up; DL zone (anywhere). If done correctly, on apassing play there will be no way the WR will touch the ball.

When on defense and the quarterback passes and the ball in theair, press X, then Triangle. The ball will be blockedor intercepted almost every time.

Hint: Cause false starts:
On defense, move the DBs, LBs, and CBs around and acrossthe field before the ball is snapped. This causes someone on theline to move 90% of the time and get a false start penalty.

Hint: Keep perfect record:
Always reset the PlayStation, if you lose a game andrestart. This will help complete the Madden challenge that requiresa perfect franchise season, with a Superbowl win.

Glitch: Create multiple players at endof franchise mode season:
This trick allows more than one player to be createdat the end of a season in franchise mode. Create a player duringfa signing, and save the franchise immediately the player is created.Reload the franchise and the game will give you the opportunityto create another player. You can do so, but the new player musthave the same name as the last player created. However, all otherstats may be different. The game will allow you to sign both players.
