Classic characters:
Press Select to choose Rayden, Jax, Kung Lao,or Kano for the classic (Mortal Kombat 1 and 2) versionsof those fighters.

Stage select:
Highlight Sonya and press Up + Startin one player or Vs mode. The screen will shake and a boom willbe heard to confirm correct code entry.

Unlimited kredits:
Press entering Down(2), Up(2), Right(2),Left(2) at the story screen. A sound will confirm correctcode entry. The kredit display will change to "Freeplay".

Fight as Chameleon:
If fighting as player one, choose any male ninja (Reptile,Classic Sub-Zero, Rain, Human Smoke, Ermac, Noob Saibot, or Scorpion)and hold Left + R1 + R2 + Square +Triangle until the fight starts. If fighting as playertwo, choose any male ninja and hold Right + R1 +R2 + Square + Triangle until the fight starts.Chameleon is a semi-clear ninja that morphs into all the otherninjas in the game. When the fight begins, your ninja will explodeand change into Chameleon.

Random character selection:
Hold Up + Start on the Character Selectscreen.

Red and blue "?" boxes:
Quickly press HK, LK, RUN, LP,HP, HP, HP LP, LP at the story screen.A sound will confirm correct code entry.

"?" on Kube:
Hold Up + R1 + R2 + L1+ L2 and press Up when the square labeled "KonfigureKombat" is displayed in the Options menu. The screen willshake to confirm correct code entry. The "?" menu willopen, and allow the following options to be set: One button fatalities: you can finish your opponent by pushingone button.Instant aggressor: The Aggressor Meter will fill after onehit.Normal Boss damage - A boss's damage will be the same as anormal fighter.Low damage: The fighters' damage after each hit is minimal.Health recovery: The health meters will replenish by a smallamount after every hit

One button fatalities:
Enable one button fatalities by using the "?"on Kube code.

Hint: Fatality award:
After you win an 8-player game the game give you anaward. Go to the last one and it should be a lot of fatalities.

Hint: Fireball Sucker Punch:
Use this trick when playing as one of the Bosses thatuse a fireball and an uppercut (all but Motaro). This is a deadlytactic to use because the recovery time is so quick. Fire a fireball.This should lure your opponent into jumping. Then, just uppercuthim.

Hint: Defeating Raiden:
Start a one player game and select Sub-Zero (eitherversion). Choose your destiny and fight your way to Raiden (ifhe is in the column you selected). Immediately after Shao Kahnsays "Fight", freeze Raiden, then walk up and uppercuthim. Just as he begins to teleport himself up, freeze him again.If timed correctly, Raiden should look like a stationery whiteblob. Then, uppercut him again. Repeat the process until he dies.Note: There are times when Raiden may dodge or block the freezemove. If this happens, wait for another chance to freeze him again.

Hint: Defeating Shao Kahn:
Select Kintoro, then keep pressing Down(2),Up. You will go up in the air and slam on top of Shao Kahn.Alternately, select Motaro. Then, keep pressing Back Circle.Alternately, select Scorpion and keep pressing Back(2),Square.

Select Kintaro, then choose any level. Battle your way with Kintaro,When you get to Shao Kahn, try to defeat him with Kintaro. Youshould lose. Then, select Liu Kang and in the battle, keep usingLow Fireball (Forward, Forward, Circle).Because Kahn uses fireball, every time he shoots you with a fireballit will go over your head.

Hint: Noob Saibot: Easy win:
When playing as Noob Saibot in any of the ways possible(himself, Shang Tsung morphed into him, or Chameleon morphed intohim), you can keep throwing your Orb Spinner and your opponentwill not be able to do a single thing to you. You can now hammeryour opponent to your heart's content. This is extremely effectiveagainst Shao Kahn. Do not throw it after one has already takeneffect, or you will get an effect like the Double Ice Backfirethat Sub-Zero occasionally gets.

The following trick works when you are playing as Noob Saibot,but not fighting a Boss. First, connect with a teleport throwby pressing Down, Up. While the person is in theair, hit them with a Spirit Orb by pressing Down, Down/Forward,Forward. Now run up and do a triple kick by pressing LK,LK, LK. Finally, do a teleport throw before theSpirit Orb wears off. Continue by doing a Spirit Orb, Triple Kick,Teleport Throw, etc.

This combo system works very well against the CPU. Select NoobSaibot in a single player game. First, throw a Shadow at the opponent(Forward, Forward, HP). Then, when the opponentis thrown above your head, time it so when you throw the Disabler(Down, Forward, LP) it connects with theopponent just before he or she hits the ground. Next, run overto the disabled opponent and hit him or her with the Uppercutcombo (HP, HP, LP, HK). While he orshe is in midair from the combo, Roundhouse them. Finally, asthey hit the ground, throw another Shadow at the opponent andrepeat. If no mistakes are made during the fight, you can geta flawless victory. Note: This combo does not work against Motaro,as his chest can automatically reflect projectiles; and attackssuch as Scorpion's Spear and Noob Saibot's Shadow will pass throughhim.

Hint: Pit fatality with one button fatalitiesenabled:
Enable the "One button fatalities" code anddisable blood. Enter a fight with someone in a background. Wintwo rounds, and hold Down + High Punch (uppercut).Note: You must hold down uppercut at sweep range. Your characterwill walk over to the opponent, elbow him first, then uppercuthim. This works most of the time.

Hint: Pit fataility:
Choose any character (except the Bosses). Enable the"Stage select" code then choose the Pit. Defeat youropponent in two rounds. Once the "Finish Him/Her" messageappears, press Up and try to jump over your opponent. Ifdone correctly, you should be facing the back of your opponent.Next, do an uppercut (Down, Square). Your opponentwill fall down and land on the Pit's spikes. Note: Use this techniqueonly in the Pit; it will not work in other stages with backgrounds.

Glitch: Uppercut your opponent in the Pitwhile frozen:
Select the Pit stage as classic Sub-Zero. When it getsto danger, use the freeze (Down, Forward, LowPunch), then uppercut into the pit. If timed correctly, youropponent will be still frozen in the ice in the pit.

Glitch: Smoke's Teleport Punch Decapitationfatality:
Use Smoke (Human) and enable the "One Button Fatality"code. Try to get your opponent to the corner, then press Circle.Smoke will miss. His Teleport Punch will not decapitate the opponent,but will still count as a fatality.

Glitch: Cyber Ninja's voice change:
Use any of the Three Cyber Ninjas (Cyrax, Sektor, orSmoke) in two player versus mode, Hit Your opponent with an uppercutand you will hear his strange new voice. This can also be donewhen facing one of the Cyber Ninjas in very hard champion mode.

Glitch: Cyrax fatality:
At the "Finish Him" screen, do the Helicopterfatality. Oil will come out of the opponent, as opposed to redor green blood.

Glitch: Sektor changes colors:
Use any fighter (Sub-Zero recommended) and enable the"Stage select" and "One button fatality" code.Select The Pit stage. Finish Sektor off with a pit fatality (Down,Up, Square). Once Sektor falls in The Pit, he willchange color. This will also happen if you use Sub-Zero's Icicleand Uppercut fatality.

Glitch: Shang Tsung automatically transforms:
Select two on two mode and have players one and playertwo both choose Kitana. At the same time, have player one selectShang Tsung and player two select Cyrax. After that, Shang Tsungwill appear glitched. At the fighting screen, Shang Tsung willbe another character automatically (most likely Sub- Zero). Note:You must go to "Configure" in the options menu and set"Shang Tsung's Morph" to "No Morphs".

Glitch: Sub Zero fatality:
Play as Sub Zero (Masked). Enable the one button fatalityoption and try to get your opponent in the corner. Once the "FinishHim/Her" message appears, press Circle. Sub Zero willuppercut your opponent, and if done correctly, the opponent willnot land on the glacier but it will still count as a fatality.

Glitch: Sub Zero's scar:
Have both players get Sub-Zero with his mask off ina two player battle. At the versus screenm Sub0Zero will havehis scar both on the left and on the right.

Glitch: One-button false fatalities andanimalities:
Enable the one button fatalities option and attemptto use a finishing move that does not exist (such as Subzero'sanimality or Rayden's second normal fatality). One of two thingswill occur: For animalities, the screen goes into fatality mode,but the character does not do anything. Then, the word "animality"still appears. This may also work for friendships. The other outcomeis that the move does not exist and will not work, such as MortalKombat 1 Rayden's second fatality. Also notice that brutalitiesdo not always work with one button mode, yet you can start andcomplete a full brutality in that mode anyway.

Glitch: Brutalities:
Use anyone except Shao Kahn, Kintaro, Motaro, or Goro.Use your brutality (one button if desired). When the opponentblows up, you will see over three skulls and many other body partsmultiplied.
