Homing laser in Galaga '88:
Hold L1 + R1 + Select + Triangle+ Down as the PlayStation is powered on. By keeping thesebuttons pressed, a perfect score can be obtained in Galaga '88.
Small cars:
Use the "homing laser" cheat to clear theGalaga '88 game with a perfect forty shot game. Small buggy versionsof the cars may be raced, with a child as commentator.
Extra cars:
Shoot all the ships during the Galaga '88 loading game(a perfect score is not required), to chose from eight additionalcars.
Secret cars:
Finish first in each track (novice, advanced, and expert),then return to race each track in Time Trial mode. After beatingeach track, the special car (Devil #13, Kid Car #13 or White Angel#0) for that track will be available.
Extra tracks:
Finish all the tracks in first place to race a reverseversion of the tracks. Finishing the reversed tracks in firstplace also unlocks the hidden "Scene" menu.
Reversed tracks:
Start the race, then immediately turn around and drivetowards the wall at the starting line at full speed. A reversedversion of the track will appear after your car passes throughthe wall.
Toggle rear-view mirror:
While racing with an internal view, press Startto pause the game. Hold Triangle + L1 or R1to make the mirror disappear and reappear.
Zoom in or out:
While racing with an external view, press Startto pause the game. Hold Triangle + L1 or R1to zoom in or out. Press L1 + R1 to reset to thedefault view.
Spinning zone:
Highlight the "Select" option on the titlescreen. Hold Square + X and press Start tochoose the game options. Highlight the "Start" optionon the menu while continuing to hold Square + X.Press Select, and hold all three buttons to start the race.Keep all buttons held until the race is about to begin. The phrase"Spinning-Zone" will appear to confirm correct codeentry. Complete some stylish 360 degree or greater spins on someof the harder corners. Each spin will be rated from 0 to 100,and your final score will be shown in the Replay.
Endings:
The game has twelve endings depending on which combinationthe tracks were raced. Racing in Advanced, Expert, Novice orderhas a different ending than racing in Novice, Expert, Advancedorder.
Control the spotlight:
Hold R1 + R2 and use the D-padto move the spotlight at the title screen. Press X to resizethe spotlight.
Alternate track and car appearance:
Press Up, Down, L1 or R1in the car select menu and the course select menu to change theappearance of the cars and tracks. Press L2 or R2in the car select menu to change the direction the tires are facing.
Hidden message:
Select championship mode, then enter "Other"and look for "Records". Do not have any custom records.Look at the names of the people. The message reads "REV YOURENGINE NAMCO".
Two player-link with one game disc:
Load the game on PlayStation 1. Open the lid and removethe game disc. If desired, an audio CD can be placed in PlayStation1. Load the game on the PlayStation 2. The "2P-Link"option should be displayed. The game by default loads the firsttrack into memory, and has it available for racing. To play anyother track, select and load the track by starting a race, waitinguntil the track is loaded, and aborting the race on PlayStation1. Then, start the game on PlayStation 2.
Glitch: Drive through cars:
Go backwards around any track and aim at another car.You will drive through the other cars.
Scene menu:
Get a score of 0 in Galaga '88by allowing all forty aliens to pass by. The phrase "SecretBonus" will appear. Appearance options such as "Normal","Noon", "Evening" and "Night" maynow be selected from a "Scene" menu.
