Additional views:
Press Start to pause the game play during arace. Press Left(5), Right (5). Resume the raceand zoom the camera to access two more views. Note: Press Up(5),Down (5) in the Japanese version of the game.

Race only in the evening:
Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2and press X at the track selection screen.

Race only at night:
Hold R1 + R2 and press X at thetrack selection screen.

Race only during the day:
Hold L1 + L2 and press X at thetrack selection screen.

Time trial mode:
Hold Select on the track selection screen.

All cars:
Hold R1 + R2 + L1 + L2+ Select + Down + Triangle at the car selectionscreen. All cars in the game may now be selectable by pressingLeft or Right. Normally, the cars are unlocked asfollows.

Extra cars
Finish in first place on all three tracks with the settingson normal enemy level and orthodox race style. Four additionalcars (two different cards with automatic and manual transmissionversions) will be available in the car selection screen: Red #1(automatic), Blue #11 (manual), Yellow #2 (automatic), Green #12(manual).

Racer X's car
Finish in first place on all three tracks with the settingson normal enemy level and endurance race style. Racer X's yellow#9 car will be available in the car selection screen. The lightyellow car has an automatic transmission. The dark yellow carhas a manual transmission.

Demon cars
Enable the "Extra cars" and "Racer X's car"codes. Finish the first trace in first place using Racer X's #9car in Time trial mode. A red Demon car with a automatic transmission,and a black Demon car with a manual transmission will be availablein the car selection screen. Note: These cars are called Ogrecars in the Japanese version of the game.

GXR car
Race on the medium or hard track and go through the tunnel.Look on the left for a small passage with a wall. To break throughthe wall, go over 190 mph, bump the statues on the left out ofthe way, then use the saws to crash through the wall. Drive straightahead to find the white GSX car. It has A++ ratings for auto andmanual.

Press Circle + Triangle + Square+ X during the replay.

Shortcuts:
There is building that appears to be a gas stationapproximately two thirds of the way through the Medium and HardLevel tracks. Make a hard left turn at this building to reacha fence. Use the Auto Jacks to jump the fence. Use the ChopperBlades to cut the trees blocking the path. While driving overthe trees the surface will be muddy, so use the Belt Tires forbetter traction and speed. A small lake will appear. Activateeither the Defender Dome or the Frogger buttons (one automaticallyactivates the other). After the lake is another fence that isjust in front of a waterfall. Jump this fence and make a hardleft turn to avoid hitting the far wall next to the waterfall.Race to the finish line. This shortcut will allow almost halfof the track to be skipped.

In the medium and long tracks (just after the gas station twothirds of the way through), on the left hand side of the coursethere appears to be an uncompleted overhead pass. Use the AutoJacks to jump on the overpass, then switch to Belt Tires overthe mud. Then Auto Jack over the barrier at the end of the shortcut.

Tunnel shortcut:
You can break through any of the doors that are inthe tunnels if they are hit at near full speed. Breaking throughthe first door in the first tunnel leads to a small shortcut thatincludes jumping a fence and going through water. In this secretpart of the tunnel is also a 90 degree turn to the left and anotherdoor.
