Hint: Restore health:
Save the game when near a mushroom ring. Quit, thenreload the saved game to restore your health.

Stepping inside any of the mastery rings will restore you life.This is much faster than saving and restarting the game.

Hint: Rune locations:

Light Rune: In Chapter 3, a witch and her sister will give youthe rune and a spell.

Fire Rune: In Chapter 4, Defeat the Beguiler and his clown toget the rune.

Water Rune: In Chapter 8, reunite the lost brothers to get therune.

Dark Rune: In Chapter 10, reunite the two children with theirmother to get the rune.
